The Santa Clara Church & Porto Sights

The Santa Clara Church features an exquisite Baroque interior adorned with intricately carved wood and plenty of gold leaf. The high level of perfection in the place of worship reflects the devotion of faith, despite having housed cloistered nuns for centuries.

This photo was taken from the street near the Muralha Fernandina which was built in 1300.

The Sao Bento train station is a must-see attraction, with walls adorned with extraordinary azulejos tiles. The new Mercado at Sao Bento has added to the attraction and provides an opportunity to spend more time in Sao Bento. Its central location makes it convenient to access key sights, and visitors can obtain train tickets and information from www.stcp.pt. Seat61 is a useful resource for train travel, providing information on routes such as Lisbon to Porto. (https://www.seat61.com/trains-and-routes/lisbon-to-porto-by-train.htm).

Passengers arriving by bus will find themselves at Campo 24 de Agosto. Sao Bento and Campo de Agosto stations are 2 km apart, and an 8-minute taxi ride can transport visitors between the two stations.
